Aids and Adaptations
We can provide equipment to help older and disabled tenants manage in their homes, ranging from minor adaptations such as a grab rail or key safe, to bigger changes such as walk in showers and ramps. Please contact your Housing Officer who will arrange for an inspection by a specialist team.
For major adaptations, such as a level access shower or a ramp, you will need to be assessed by an Occupational Therapist (OT). The OT will then recommend what work would be required to be carried out.
For more information, please call our Equipment & Adaptations Officer on 0800 169 5454 or contact Worcestershire Promoting Independent Living Service (PILS) by emailing PILScontactus@millbrookhealthcare.co.uk or call 0330 124 8205.
- Carry out minor adaptations for disabled customers within 7 working days of receiving the OT’s recommendations
- Carry out major adaptations (that are within budget) for disabled customers within 12 months of receiving the OT’s recommendations
- Report back our decision within 10 working days if you request permission to carry out a repair, alteration or adaptation yourself.
Telecare pendant alarms (Lifelines)
If you live in one of our bungalows or flats which have been designated for older or vulnerable people, the property will be equipped with an alarm which you pay a service charge for. This alarm will allow you to call for assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We offer extra assistive technology such as sensors and falls detectors which may help you to remain independent in your home. For further details please see amica24’s website www.amica24.org or call 0345 130 1469.
Care & Support 24

We are committed to providing excellent quality services. Our Personal Care and Extra Care services are regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and their inspection reports are published on the CQC website, view the latest report for Berrington Court Extra Care or Arch Hill Court Extra Care.
