The Challenge

Social Housing Providers are facing a range of challenges. External factors including a 1% cut in rental income for 4 years, regulatory and welfare reform, a lack of housing supply and the increasing gap between income and housing costs are, placing significant pressure on both us and our customers, resulting in a push to identify cost saving initiatives whilst housing and supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

To meet these challenges we’ve embarked on a programme of Group wide transformation, commencing with the implementation of a new streamlined governance structure and risk management framework.

In 2017/18 our focus will be on reviewing our offer to tenants and our core Housing Management Services to ensure we are delivering what tenants want, what is affordable and ensuring value for money.

We will also embrace digital technology to help us deliver services faster and more efficiently and support our people and customers to be digitally included and engage with us in new and exciting ways on the things that matter most to them.

By re-financing our business plan and increasing our commercial business we will ensure we are able to continue to invest in and deliver a positive return from our assets, build new homes across a range of tenure types, develop new services and create communities people want to live in.
