What are Community Grants

The Community Housing Group recognises the importance of partnership working and the benefits of empowering customers to develop and manage projects that address their identified needs. The Community Grant is a means of funding projects that will help the community to develop and become sustainable.

We welcome applications from all groups and encourage innovative ideas. Your project must involve and/or benefit Wyre Forest Community Housing Tenants and we are keen to support projects which will:

  • Help people to work together for the benefit of the community
  • Help people to become more involved in their communities
  • Provide a broader range of facilities and services to local communities
  • Projects that improve the local environment
  • Improve people’s ability to access paid employment e.g. training programme's
  • Target underrepresented groups in the community

The grant can be used for part or total project funding and can be for Capital and or Revenue costs. You can apply for between £50 and £1,000.

We particularly want to encourage applications from locally based community groups and organisations. New organisations, as well as established groups are welcome to apply. An emphasis will be placed on the kind of project and potential project outputs when approving applications.

It is important to remember that the project must involve or benefit The Community Housing Group’s customers (70 – 75% of the total project outputs must be for the benefit of TCHG Tenants). Where possible applicants are asked to collect and provide evidence of community support and to highlight the identified local need in their applications.
