Vestia Community Grant Criteria 2010/2011

In order to maximise the development of sustainable communities The Community Housing Group recognises the importance of empowering individuals and groups to develop and manage projects that address local identified needs.

The aim of the Vestia Community Grant is to support community involvement, projects, groups or services which benefit future and existing customers of The Community Housing Group.

The kinds of projects we aim to fund include ones that:

• Help people to work together for the benefit of the community
• Help people to become more involved in their communities
• Provide a broader range of facilities and services to local communities
• Projects that improve the local environment
• Improve people’s ability to access paid employment e.g. training programmes
• Target underrepresented groups in the community
  

A total of £20,000 is available in the Vestia Community Grant. The fund is divided into:

• Business support to voluntary sector / not for profit organisations - £10,000
• Community Grant for projects over £200 - £ 10,000

The fund will run from April 2010 – March 2011. Rounds will be open quarterly, with an approvals panel meeting in June, September, December and March.

Applications must be;

• For the benefit of TCHG tenants
• For projects in Wyre Forest
• From Groups or organisations that are not politically affiliated or politically active
