Regulation and Inspection

Our Business

This year, we have performed extremely well in a number of external validations and assessments.

Housing Corporation Assessment
We received the maximum 4 "green lights" in our Housing Corporation assessment, which judges viability, governance, management, and the use of development funding and grants. The inspection report said "The group demonstrates a good performance by achieving or exceeding its annual targets, maintaining good progress against targets during the year and delivering quality housing that meets our standards".

Governance and Risk
In 2007, the Housing Corporation considered us to be a "low risk organisation" with a good framework in place to identify and mitigate any potential risks. Although we have incorporated risk reviews as a requirement for all project plans or service developments, we have ensured that the process is simplified and results in a useful tool for the teams involved.

Performance Indicator Validation
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we set challenging targets and assess ourselves against previous results and by benchmarking with other Registered Social Landlords of a similar size and composition. We have also benchmarked our performance against other organisations in different sectors through the Midlands Excellence network. A recent external validation review of the Key Performance Indicators required by the Housing Corporation, showed us to be fully compliant with several areas of good practice highlighted.
